Sometimes you have huge data to backup and there seems to be no way you can spend money on those expensive external hard drives. Though you can’t backup more than 60-80 GB online without using any commercial services. In that you are supposed to pay to third party data backup services or to buy external hard drive for yourself. Let’s take a look at some of the ways you can backup your software.
DVD’s – This should be your first preference to backup your files. You can borrow or rent DVD drive and backup your files on 4-5 disk depending on your storage requirements.
Windows SkyDrive – If your folder contains files with size under 50MB then you can upload upto 5 GB of files on windows free files storage. This is not suitable for you if you have lots of executable softwares or files with size larger than 50MB. But still it can be good for small backups.
Windows Live Mesh – This backup service like skydrive is restricted to 5GB and you can use these two accounts to backup 10GB of data.
Dropbox – There is nothing much you can get them for free but you can definitely get some reliable storage for monthly subscription.
Backblaze – This is one of the cheapest backup solution that you can get online. It is priced at 5$/month but only downside is that some users say their software is tied to user’s hard disk so for multiple computers this may not be a good solution. But for single users this can be a good option.
Jungledisk - Jungledisk backup service is one of the best option for online backups. I prefer it over any other service as it offers me a choice to backup my HD files to amazon or rackspace at scheduled time. It simply works!
Cheap Thumb Drives – 16GB thumb drives are perfect if you are on low budget. These 16gb Drives costs about 12-18$ in market or online store and 2-5 of these can backup a lot of important data. You can search more online if you want cheapest USB drive provider.
Cheap External Drives – 250GB external drives costs less than 70$ in the market and should be enough for your average backup needs. If your backup is more than 250GB then you can still get some used 320GB drives under 50$.
