People form a tribe around things they like for example, lady gaga fan club or bryan adams fan club, apple and windows OS fan club etc. People in this tribe religiously stick to their views about their tribe and symbol of tribe. Symbol could change from one tribe to another – apple, microsoft, lady gaga or any other symbol. They’re protective about their tribe and symbol. Unless they’re open to competitive tribes they hardly tolerate any opposing views against their tribe.
How to sell anything to tribe ?
You need to figure out the symbol of tribe before you sell anything to tribe. Once you figure out the symbol then it’s your job to find out how desperate they’re about the product which is related to tribe and how many people are open about options other than their tribe, once you find answers to these questions it becomes very easy to market or sell items related to tribe.
Ofcourse there are ups and down in season even inside the tribe and you’ve to keep up with the trends inside and outside of tribe to make your sales pitch effective.
