Word Processing Softwares for Freelance Writers

Freelance writers who spend most of their time in front of their computers often struggle to find the right text processor for their work. MS Word or Open Office usage is not always beneficial when you’re writing in drafts or want to mask the distraction on taskbar or other windows. In such cases you need to get writing softwares that can solve these issues. In this post i’m going to list few softwares that are perfect for the freelacing writers needs.

YWriter - Free and distraction-free software. You can use it to write novels and other drafts using this software. It is also one good software to keep as text in terms of folder sorting. Overall, one good software for freelance wrtiers.

Writemonkey – This software has tons of features for writers, freelance writers and bloggers. You’ll be able to save drafts and access them from single interface. There are many features of this software which are surely going to help freelancers who wish to concentrate on their writing.

Q10 - This is not in active development and has less features than writemonkey. But still it is good on it’s own place. If you’re looking for software to keep out of distraction while you’re busy writing then q10 is perfect for you.

Textroom – This is free software that lets you restrict your activity to writing only. It has enough features to let you process text in multiple formats.

Liquid Story Binder - For fiction and other content writing needs this software is perfect package. It’s not free and is released as shareware version. You can buy it if you like the features of it during usage period.

Tree DB Notes – You can use this free software to keep track of all your drafts and other sorted content. It may not be good for the fiction or non-ficiton writers but for bloggers, freelance writers this is one good software as it lets you easily organize content in tree format. You can also use this software to save quotes and other text excerptz from the web.

Scrivner – This software is avilable for both mac and windows. As of now windows version is released in beta for free. You can grab this version if you’re full time writer or freelance writer and want much organized setup for your writing needs.

Notebox Disorganizer – This software is mix of spreadsheet interface for text processing. It has some interesting features that are worth to check out if you’re freelance writer. It is a free software.

Flashnotes – If you’re a freelancer and wants to keep track of information from web for citation or links then flash note is one good software to install. You can also use cinta notes if you want simple interface and have lots of small excerpts to save.

Evernote - If you’re using mobile or small tablet while driving or traveling then evernote can be used to keep track of your ideas, excepts and other input. Think of evernote as software to be used when you’re thinking about ideas and have no time to expand on but just to archive them.

These are some of the softwares that i have managed to find due to help from my freelancer friends. I’m not a writer but still i do use them for distraction free writing.
